Jordan + Dawson Wallace
10/10/26
Some wedding days are beautiful because everything goes exactly as planned. And then there are wedding days that remind you just how beautiful life can be when you take a chance, show up, and let things unfold.
Jordan and Dawson's wedding day on October 10, 2026, in Mississippi was a little bit of both.
These two call Arkansas home, but traveled to Mississippi to celebrate their marriage surrounded by their closest friends and family. The vision was everything you could hope for in a Southern wedding: intimate, timeless, effortlessly chic, and filled with the kind of love that makes you feel right at home.
Of course, there was one little detail we couldn't quite ignore: the threat of a tropical hurricane.
I'll be honest, I was nervous. Watching the weather and wondering how everything would unfold was not exactly the relaxing pre-wedding experience you dream of. But despite the uncertainty, everyone showed up, the day came together, and somehow, the sun even decided to make an appearance. Most importantly, everyone was safe, and that is something I will never take for granted.
And what a beautiful day it turned out to be.
One of the things that made this wedding so special was how much love was poured into making it happen. A huge thank-you to Dawson's parents for so generously opening up their home and accommodating everyone. Hosting a wedding is one thing, but welcoming so many people and creating a space where everyone feels at home is something entirely different. Your generosity did not go unnoticed, and it helped make this celebration what it was. To Jordan's family, thank you for being so wonderful and easygoing throughout everything. Sometimes the best wedding days are made possible by the people who simply show up with good hearts, go with the flow, and make everything a little more fun.
Then there was the FOOD. Because we have to talk about the food! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the tiramisu deserves its own moment of recognition. If you know, you know. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already wonderful celebration.
Beyond the beautiful setting, the food, and all the little details, what stood out most was the people. The closest friends and family traveled to be there, making the effort to show up for Jordan and Dawson and celebrate such an important chapter of their lives. There is something so special about that kind of love. People rearranging schedules, traveling miles, and stepping away from everyday life just to stand beside the people who matter to them. That's what it's all about.
And then, somewhere between the wedding day and the flight home, I had one of those moments that makes you pause.
Every time I looked out the airplane window, I found myself stepping back from whatever I was doing and thinking about how incredibly grateful I was. Grateful to have been there. Grateful that everyone was safe. Grateful for the people I met, the memories made, and the opportunity to be part of something so meaningful.
I also have to give a very special shoutout to my friend Betty, who recommended me to Jordan! Betty and Jordan are coworkers, and I'm so thankful she thought of me and connected us. It's funny how one little recommendation can turn into an opportunity, an experience, and a memory you carry with you long after the weekend is over. Betty, thank you for thinking of me!
This weekend was also a reminder of something I've been trying to embrace more and more: sometimes you have to put yourself out there, step outside your comfort zone, and say yes even when you're scared.
It's easy to stay where things feel familiar. It's easy to talk yourself out of opportunities because of the unknown, the what-ifs, or the things that might not go according to plan. But some of the most meaningful experiences happen when you take that leap anyway.
I was nervous about the weather. I was traveling somewhere new, meeting new people, and stepping into an experience I couldn't fully predict. But had I let those nerves make the decision for me, I would have missed out on such a beautiful weekend.
Jordan and Dawson, thank you for trusting me to be part of your wedding day. Your celebration was a reminder that love doesn't need perfect circumstances to shine. Sometimes all it needs is the right people, an open heart, a little faith, and maybe a break in the clouds.
Here's to beautiful beginnings, generous families, good food, even better company, and the courage to say yes to the things that scare us a little!
